2025 Scholar Athletes, Athletic Directors, and District Leadership
This year, sixteen seniors were awarded college scholarships at the 14th Annual Scholar-Athlete, Coach & Community Banquet. These seniors demonstrate an excellence in multi-sport athletics, academics and community service.

Individual Donations
Donations of any amount are accepted. Individual donations will be combined to create the scholarships below. Names of individual donors will be printed in the event program
- Andy Mac Scholarship in memory of beloved Highline High School graduate and volunteer firefighter Andy Mac who passed away at 19 on November 6, 2006
- Athletics Department Staff Scholarship. (Donations from HPS Building Athletic Directors, Athletic Trainers, Event Staff & Secondary Administrators).
- Doris Burdin Memorial Scholarship. In memory of Doris Burdin, coach and teacher at Evergreen for 42 years.
- Evergreen Coaches, Staff, Admin, Alumni, Parents & Community Members Scholarship.
- Former Recipients Scholarship: Scholar-athlete award winners of the past are invited to contribute to this scholarship as a way to give back.
- Highline High School Coaches, Staff, Admin, Alumni, Parents & Community Members Scholarship.
- HPS Community Scholarship. (Donation from members of the community at large)
- Jay Halvorson Scholarship in memory of Evergreen graduate Jay Halvorson, who spent countless days at the White Center Field House and whose baseball records at Evergreen are legendary. Jay passed away on January 5, 2007.
- Jimmie Fortner Scholarship in memory of Tyee science and physical education teacher Jimmie Fortner, who was born without legs in 1944 became a star athlete and was a coach at both Tyee and Evergreen. Jimmie passed away On March 23, 2021.
- Kenney Bui Memorial Scholarship. In memory of a true scholar-athlete, Kenney Bui, Evergreen Football player who passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015.
- Mount Rainier Coaches, Staff, Admin, Alumni, Parents & Community Members Scholarship.
- Senior Leadership Team Scholarship. (Donations from current & retired members of HPS Senior Leadership Team)
- Tyee Coaches, Staff, Admin, Alumni, Parents & Community Members Scholarship.
Named Scholarships (Business, Individual, Family, Memorial)
You also have the opportunity to put together a named scholarship by donating $1,000 or more. Named Scholarship Sponsors receive the following:
- Advertisement in full-color awards program.
- Sponsor name in HPS Scholar-Athlete ad to appear in all high school game programs through the next school year.
- Public address recognition at high school and Highline Memorial Field events through the next school year.
- Sponsor name in post-season ad in The Highline Times.
