Funds raised by Friends of Evergreen support a variety of programs and projects at Evergreen, such as:
- Sports: New uniforms for our student athletes (since many of the current ones are literally falling apart), training equipment, fees, food, and travel costs.
- Activities: Strategic investments to rebuild key programs such as the band, choir, Advanced Placement, and student leadership; or grow new and emerging programs like Spanish dual language, computer science, college preparation, and career exploration.
- Improvements: While a brand new school is still a few years away, we want to do everything possible to create a high-quality learning environment for our students and staff through new technology (projectors, laptops); getting science labs in better working condition; assembly equipment (projector screens, class banners, gym chairs); and landscaping.
The Highline Schools Foundation is proud to partner with Friends of Evergreen and act as their fiscal sponsor. Friends of Evergreen closely collaborates with Jacqueline Downey, principal of Evergreen High School, as well as current groups such as the Evergreen Wolverine Booster Club, and future groups that may be created such as a Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA), Alumni Association, or Foundation/Endowment.
