About Project Promise...

For many high school girls, going to the prom is an event anticipated for years and not going because the family can't afford a formal dress can be devastating. However, we as a Foundation are determined to make a difference. Through the efforts of Project Promise, these girls will be able to attend the prom in beautiful dresses donated by local organizations and community members.   Dress recipients have the option of keeping the dresses or returning them to the Foundation for use next year.  We are excited to see this program grow in the coming years, making it possible for many more students enjoy this special high school tradition.

Our Mission:
Providing community resources to help Highline Public Schools succeed!

Thank you for making this year's Project PROMise a huge success!

The first Project PROMise Fashion Show was held on May 7th and was followed by the second annual Project PROMise dress giveaway on May 8th.  Both events were held at Doubletree Suites in Tukwila and were a huge success. The fashion show was a culminating project for Heidi Buck, a senior at Highline High School.  The show premiered dresses and accessories from the collection and featured high school student models from across the district.  The theme emphasized beauty across cultures and sizes.

On Saturday, 83 girls from Highline School district were met by personal shoppers and browsed our over 500 dresses to find that perfect prom dress. We were so happy to see their smiles, their excitement and glowing faces: dreams were coming true!  We had dresses, shoes and accessories  beautifully displayed and over 50 volunteers to attend to their needs. The crowning glory was the four seamstresses that sewed all day (and took dresses home) to made sure the fit was perfect.

We would like to thank everyone that contributed to the success of this event:

Thank you

To all that donated dresses, shoes and accessories: for the girls, you made their dreams come true!

Thank you

To all that donated money, gift cards or other in kinds: you helped us make the event perfect by being able to hold drawings to complete an evening they will each remember.

Thank you

To all the volunteers that helped us before, after and during the event. Your commitment is driving us towards toward excellence.

Thank you

To all the girls - May you enjoy your prom and feel unique and special, because you all are!
